Funding Oppportunities

The board of trustees is responsible for endorsing funds, allocating grants and fundraising. Applications for grants are by invitation only.

Grant requests are solicited in the spring and final decisions will be made at the June meeting of the trustees. Grant sizes range from $5,000 to $25,000, the majority are provided with funding for one year but multi-year funding requests will be considered.

Once invited to submit a proposal, applicants must provide the following:

  • Grant Budget
  • Concise narrative (no more than 3 pages) of how the grant will be used and the expected outcome/benefit of the grant support being requested
  • Organization History/Background fact sheet
  • Listing of Board of Directors and Key Staff
  • Most recent audited financial statements
  • Copy of the 501 (c)(3) status
  • Any additional materials (annual report, brochures, and/or newsletters) which you believe could be helpful to the trustees in making their decision.

After the foundation receives a proposal, one of the trustees will contact the organization to schedule a site-visit. A site-visit is required for grant approval.

Once a proposal is accepted, the organization will be asked to provide an evaluation of the effectiveness of the grant after one year.

The Honey Dew Family Foundation requests that the Foundation be listed in all applicable organizational materials (annual report, web-site and newsletters/brochures).
